Grilled Avocado

This extremely easy dish is maximized in taste with a simple recipe of tamari, sea salt, lemon, and wasabi. Use a kitchen blow torch, or pop it under the broiler for that smokey earthy flavor.

Cook time: 5 -8 minutes



Serves 2

Ingredients

2 large avocado

2 tbsp. tamari

1/2 tsp. to taste

1 tbsp. of fresh lemon juice

1/4 tsp. wasabi, or to taste

1 tsp. virgin olive oil

lettuce leaves for serving

sprinkle with red chili powder, optional



Method ~. Slice avocado in half. Score it with a pairing knife, making crosses in both directions.

Brush the avocado with virgin olive oil, then either place under the broiler on high, or torch it with the kitchen torch, until blackened all around. 5-8 minutes. Keep an eye if broiling.


Dressing ~ In a small bowl, whisk all the ingredients together, taste for seasoning.

Place a spoonful in each avocado. Serve warm.


Serving ~ Place the avocado's on top of lettuce leaves for presentation. Sprinkle with red chili powder if using.
